How we handle the data of people who visit the website or write to us, and which cookies we use — in short: none that profile you.

What data we process

Browsing data

Like any website, the servers hosting it automatically record some technical data about requests: IP address, date and time, page requested, outcome and browser type. This data is used only to run the website and protect it from abuse; it is not used to identify you and is deleted after a short period, unless it is needed to investigate computer crimes.

Data you send us

If you write to us through the "Let's talk about your plant" form, by email or by phone, we process the data you provide — name, company, contact details and the content of your message — to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a quote. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep this data for as long as necessary to handle your request and any relationship that follows.

Who can see the data

The data is processed by authorised GEM staff and by the suppliers who help us run the website and email — the provider of the server hosting the website, the network and protection service in front of it, and our email provider — appointed as data processors. We do not sell or disclose your data. Where a supplier processes data outside the European Union, it does so with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).

Cookies

This website does not use profiling or analytics cookies, and there are no third-party statistics or advertising tools. That is why we don't ask for your consent with a banner.

  • Technical security cookies. The network service protecting the website may set technical cookies to tell visitors apart from automated programs (for example Cloudflare's __cf_bm). They are not used to profile you and expire quickly.
  • Map. The map on the Contact page is provided by OpenStreetMap and loaded from the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers, which receive your IP address in order to display it. It does not set cookies.
  • Google Maps. The website does not embed Google Maps: the "Open in Google Maps" links take you to Google's website only if you click them, and from there Google's own rules apply.
  • Form protection. To keep spam away, the contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that does not require recognising images and is not used for advertising.

You can still delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, object to it or receive it in a readable format (Articles 15–22 GDPR), by writing to [email protected]. If you believe the processing is not lawful, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
